Dr. Arvind J. Padgaonkar

Dr. Padgaonkar is responsible for the CAD and CAE activities of the Climate Control Division at Visteon Corporation. Dr. Padgaonkar began his career with Ford Motor Company and has worked for Ford Motor Company and Visteon for more than 27 years. He has held positions in Component and System Design, Program Management, CAD and CAE. He has published several papers in crashworthiness, occupant and pedestrian safety, heater system performance, fluid dynamics and kinematics. Dr. Padgaonkar also holds a patent on heating techniques with multiple sources. He is a member of ASME and SAE and has served on several technical and executive committees for both engineering societies. Dr. Padgaonkar won the Young Engineer of the year award from Southeastern Michigan Section of ASME in 1985; a Gold Medal Award from the Institute of Engineers of India in 1970; and a Quality Improvement Award from Ford Motor Company. He has taught undergraduate Mechanical Engineering courses at Lawrence Technological University for about ten years. Dr. Padgaonkar earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University and received a Bachelor’s of Engineering from India and a Masters in Engineering from University of Detroit.
