Dr. Khurshid A. Qureshi is Powertrain KBE Technical Specialist at Ford Motor Company. Dr. Qureshi has been with Ford since 1997. He is one of the founders, inventors and leaders of the PowerKIT (Powertrain KBE system—Virtual Powertrain Design Environment) project. Dr. Qureshi has more than 15 years of experience in the area of KBE/CAD/CAM/CAE. One of his major areas of interest is "Systems Approach to Design." His other areas of interest are Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Fixturability (DFF). Prior to joining Ford, Khurshid worked for SDRC, a global provider of CAD/CAM software and services, in the CAM group, responsible for Algorithm development for CNC milling and Lathe operations. Khurshid has his Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan—Ann Arbor; and an MBA in International Business from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dr. Khurshid has been a recipient of several awards, including an International Scholar Award.
