Michael J. Wheeler is the Vice President and General Manager of the Mechanical Business Unit for ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies used by engineers to analyze computer-aided designs. Prior to joining ANSYS, Inc. in 2000, Mr. Wheeler served as Vice President of Operations for TechNet International, an engineering services company. His career began as a software programmer for Westinghouse Electric Corp in 1971. In 1976, he joined Swanson Analysis Systems, Inc., the developers of the ANSYS finite element program, which became ANSYS, Inc. in 1994. While at Swanson, he served in various technical and management positions, including overseeing the development of the entire ANSYS software program. In 1989, he joined Rasna Corporation as the Vice President of Engineering, where he led the development of the Mechanica family of software products and in 1993 became the Chief Technical Officer for Rasna. Michael J. Wheeler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
