Michael J. Wheeler

With more than 25 years of industry experience, Mr. Michael J. Wheeler leads the strategic vision for the ANSYS product line. Previously, Mr. Wheeler held various positions within ANSYS, including Vice President of Marketing. Prior to joining the company in 2000, Mr. Wheeler served as Vice President of Operations of Technet International, a computer-aided engineering services company.

Mr. Wheeler's career began as a software programmer for Westinghouse Electric Corp in 1971. In 1976, he joined Swanson Analysis Systems, Inc., which became ANSYS, Inc. in 1994. While at Swanson, he served in various technical staff and management positions, including overseeing the development of the entire ANSYS software program. In 1989, Mr. Wheeler joined Rasna Corporation as the Vice President of Engineering, where he led the development of the Mechanica family of software products. In 1993, he became the Chief Technical Officer for Rasna, with responsibilities to assist customers with product implementation.

Mr. Wheeler holds a BSME from the University of Pittsburgh, PA.
