Biography

David Knapp has been developing and deploying Product Creation solutions since 1984. His first ten years were with IBM's Mechanical Design Automation organization developing Feature-Based Design, Assembly Modeling and Knowledge-based Generative Machining solutions. Knapp’s next five years were with DaimlerChrysler's CAD/CAM R&D organization developing their Digital Manufacturing vision and putting the integrated Product/Process/Resource approach into production on two major vehicle programs. As Director of Consulting for INCAT, Knapp spent three years implementing Product Creation solutions for major Automotive, Aerospace, Shipbuilding and Consumer Products companies around the world. He joined Ford Motor Company in 2002 to lead the development of the C3P NG Solution Architecture and is now Principle Architect, Product Creation developing the conceptual foundation for Ford's Next Generation PLM Environment.
