Michael Cate has thirty seven years experience in the industry, all with Washington Group International, including both foreign and domestic locations. Functional responsibilities on a variety of project types have included engineering, procurement and project management in both field and home office assignments. He is currently corporate functional leader for procurement throughout all of Washington Group. He has been active for many years on behalf of Washington Group in the Construction Industry Institute (CII) and currently serves on the CII Research and Knowledge Committees. He presented at the 1993 and 2002 CII annual conferences, and is principal author of two CII publications. He also represents Washington Group as a member of the Procurement Executives Group for the Engineering and Construction Industry. Mr. Cate holds an electrical engineering degree from the University of Tennessee.
