Abstract

Laser Scanning in Revamps: Making it Pay
Last year at Daratech, we at A-B were just taking ‘baby steps’ with use of laser scanning technology on our capital projects. This year we’re back with more of the story to tell. We will explore laser scanning strategic applications; we will examine actual post-construction metrics where laser scanning was utilized; we will present three case studies from recent projects from an engineering approach - what scanners, software and workflow methods were utilized, and oh yes, even share a few bumps & bruises encountered along the way; we will share lessons learned; and, we will present our view of what we (both owner and engineer) want from the laser scanning industry to move forward with applying this technology in a cost effective manner. Don’t miss this one!
