Jim Leitch joined Fluor in 1999 as senior director, operations principal. Prior to Fluor he was managing director at Troxler Electric Laboratories; senior manager corporate planning at Dow-United Technologies; and project manager for manufacturing technology at Northop-Grumman/Vought Aerospace. Before that he was employed as an electrical engineer at Volkswagen of America; and at Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Leitch received his bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Michigan State University, as well as having completed specialized postgraduate course work in several disciplines. He also completed the Chrysler Institute Management Program. Mr. Leitch is a certified manufacturing technologist in automation and robotics with the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He is a senior member of the Society of Automotive and Aerospace Engineers (SAE), a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Institute of Industrial Engineers. He serves on the SAE's Lean Executive Steering Committee. Mr. Leitch holds patents in advanced composites, modular tooling and flexible manufacturing.
