William Carrelli

William A. “Bill” Carrelli is vice president of strategic marketing and business development for UGS, a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services with more than 3.3 million licensed seats and 42,000 accounts worldwide. Carrelli has more than 25 years of experience in the product lifecycle management (PLM) industry. He previously served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Marketing for Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC), a publicly traded company engaged in the sale, support and development of CAD/CAM/CAE and PDM solutions. In 2001 EDS acquired SDRC and merged it with Unigraphics Solutions to form the PLM line of business.
During his tenure at SDRC, Carrelli held positions in engineering, sales, sales management and global marketing, with responsibilities spanning technical sales and support, global major account development, marketing communications, product marketing and business development. Prior to joining SDRC, Carrelli spent two and a half years at Lockheed-Georgia Corporation where he worked as a structural engineer for the C-5A program.
Carrelli is a respected authority in the PLM industry having been named to Daratech’s “Who’s Who in PLM.” He has been a featured speaker at PLM conferences, both domestic and international, including Kalthoff, National Design Engineering, Autofact and PDMA.
In addition to numerous speaking engagements, Carrelli also has authored articles for a number of industry publications and has been featured in several industry publications. Carrelli holds a B.S. degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He has completed the executive development program in marketing and business development at Stanford University.
