Prior to becoming an entrepreneur & president of FALCONEER Technologies LLC, Dr. Lenz spent 18 years in the chemical industry with FMC and Dow Corning Corporation. He has an extensive background in leading professionals, technology piloting, scale-up and optimization as well as modeling/simulation and project management. He has played a key role in the implementation and re-certification of PSM and ISO 9002 quality standards at manufacturing plant sites and was a formative member of AIChE’s Process Development Group, now Process Development Division. Dr. Lenz received his B.S. in chemical engineering with a minor in energy from the University of New Hampshire. He went on to receive his Ph.D. in 1985 in chemical engineering under the renowned Dr. Vladimir Haensel (inventor of “platforming” catalysts) at the University of Massachusetts and in part at the Universite Paris VI. Dr. Lenz also headed an industry-academic collaboration between FMC and the Danish Technical University (Lyngby, Denmark) to develop in-house advanced process control systems, utilizing computer-assisted engineering to automate control of continuous process and monitor sensors to ensure correct production operation. He is an author or co-author of numerous papers and patents and has been an invited speaker at various international venues.
