John McQuary is vice president and leader of the Knowledge Management Team and Technology Strategies Organization for Fluor Corporation. He is responsible for new project execution solutions and creating a knowledge-sharing culture at Fluor. His role requires the ability to see things from a global perspective, to establish a clear vision of future possibilities, to create a strategy to achieve goals, and to deliver business-focused results.
Mr. McQuary has worked for Fluor for over 25 years. His career began in piping and material engineering and soon led to various strategic change initiative roles including: leadership of the Computer Integrated Engineering department; leadership of the Information Services Department; leadership of the Global Automation and Technology Strategies teams; and instrumental roles in transforming Fluor into a knowledge-based engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services organization and in defining Fluor’s next generation project execution platform.
In addition to his Fluor responsibilities, Mr. McQuary sits on the FIATECH Board of Directors and is frequently invited to be a speaker at various knowledge management and technology conferences.
Mr. McQuary's education includes a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arkansas, and leadership studies at the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management and the University of South Carolina.
This session will include a case study including several examples of global collaboration, knowledge sharing and project productivity improvements in use by Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest, publicly-owned engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance services companies.
