Anthony J. “Tony” Affuso is president and CEO of UGS. Affuso previously served as president and CEO of Unigraphics Solutions Inc., a publicly traded company engaged in the sales, service and development of software technology
to support the automation of product engineering and manufacturing engineering processes. In 2001, EDS, which was a majority shareholder of Unigraphics Solutions, acquired all outstanding shares of the company and merged it with the recently acquired Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SDRC) to form the PLM line of business – later known as UGS PLM Solutions – where Affuso again served as president and CEO.

Affuso joined EDS in 1984 as director of Strategic Planning and Technology Development. In 1988, he was appointed the EDS division president of the C4 Program on the General Motors (GM) account. The C4 Program was GM’s corporate program to develop and implement a state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and information network to modernize its global vehicle development process.

Before joining EDS, Affuso was with Xerox Corporation for 12 years. As manager of Advanced CAD/CAM Technology, he planned and implemented a company-wide program that automated the engineering design and tooling process for Xerox’s office copier divisions.

After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree at Rochester Institute of Technology, Affuso began his early career as a design engineer with the development of custom manufacturing automation systems for IBM and Cogar Corp.

He serves on the board of Southern Methodist University’s School of Engineering in Dallas.

Tony Affuso enjoys bicycling, fishing and equity investing. He resides in Frisco, Texas with his wife Lorraine.
