Michael Boldt is the manager of engineering applications at Moog Inc. in East Aurora, NY. The Engineering Applications/Product Information department is part of the Corporate IT Group at Moog. Mike has worked at Moog, a worldwide manufacturer of precision control components and systems, for more than 17 years. Moog’s high performance actuation products control military and commercial aircraft, satellites and space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles and automated industrial machinery. In his role, Mike manages the group responsible for applications and systems used to define, verify, manufacture and document Moog’s products. These include UGS UG/NX mechanical CAD/CAM/CAE applications, UGS TeamCenter Engineering Product Lifecycle Management applications, a software configuration management system built on IBM/Rational ClearCase and ClearQuest, several electronic CAE/CAD applications, the Moog PDM Library, and several other engineering applications used for CAE, requirements management, and manufacturing process planning. Prior to becoming the engineering applications manager, Mike was a design engineer in Moog’s Space & Defense Group, developing subsystems for thrust vector control and flight control applications. Before this, he worked for Raytheon Co. in Wayland, MA, and Computervision Corp. in Bedford, MA. Mike has over 22 years of experience in CAD/CAM, product design and technical documentation.
