As part of a new venture for Air International in the United States in 1999, Richard filled the new position of design engineering manager. During Richard's time with Air International, he has undertaken design engineering roles in Australia, China and the United States. Since his relocation in 2000, his responsibilities and achievements have included the creation, development and growth of the design and CAE systems in the United States, including the implementation of various CAD, CFD and FEA tools and PDM processes, along with the integration of design activities from satellite North American and global engineering groups. Prior to joining Air International in 1998, Richard held various manufacturing and design engineering positions in the automotive, food processing, glass manufacturing and satellite and radio communications industries. Richard has a degree in mechanical engineering and manufacturing management from the University of South Australia.
The purpose of the this presentation is to outline how and why Air International has implemented EASA as a tool in our product development portfolio. Included will be discussion on EASA's alignment with Air International's global engineering strategy; the vision for the changing role of the analyst and designer and EASA's role in this vision; why we chose EASA; business case considerations; before and after process illustration; examples of applications authored and industry CAE applications that have been unified utilizing EASA, and; future plans for the tool.
